Marriage

And so the journal begin.

On 08 Nov 2014, after dating the love of my life for more than 2 years. We got married at one of my favorite place in Singapore- MacRitchie Reservior. We are so grateful for that God has brought us together.

It was a whole day of activity starting as early as 6am for my wife. In the morning, the activities were held at Orchid Country Club. First we have the Solenmisation, follow by tradtional Chinese Tea ceremony, follow by Chinese wedding banquet lunch. When this is done, we travelled down to MacRitchie Reservior for our Holy Matrimony.

As I look back, I wonder how did we pull thru such a day packed with activity. We were pleasantly surprised that we enjoy every moment of our wedding. Sure it was not a perfect wedding, and not everything turn out the way we originally planned. 

From the time we engaged till the day we got married, we had slightly less than 6 months to plan for the wedding. We heard there are couples who plan 2 years for their wedding. For me and my wife, the wedding is a big part of our marriage, but it's how we live as married couple for the rest of our life that we are looking for and focusing on. Perhaps some couple equate wedding to marriage but they are really 2 different matters. Anyway, I just couldn't wait to marry my wife, even in the earlier stage when we were dating, I kept asking and getting hints from her close friends if she is ready. BUT it is really worth the wait.

1 aspect of wedding planning that really surprise me is choosing my Bestman and Groomsmen. Haha, it:s not the wedding theme or venue (erm, venue is quite a big consideration). I really wanted to ask the right person to by my side on my big day. Perhaps in male friendship, that is the highest honour you can tell a buddy that they are very important to you. Since my list is longer than the number of Bestman/Groomsman that my wife and I decide on, I really have to crack my head to pick the right person. There are few men that I didn't ask to be my Groomsman, but that doesn't mean they are not important to me. I thought hard and long about this and decide to organise a day trek, inviting all my buddies, just like how other guys have bachalor night, I have my bachelor day trek. I work out well, in the end 7 of us travel up to Melaka to trek up Gunung Datuk. It was a great day of male bonding time.

A special mention to the following person who help us so much, I just couldn't thank them enough, in no order of importance and significance.

My parents who are so supportive of this marriage. I think I made them wait long enough

My sister Sharon, who plan the seating arrangement at the banquet lunch and for taking care of the guest when they arrived.

My sister Jocelyn for allowing her son Liam to be my pageboy

My sister Charmaine for doing make up for my wife and many others (my mom). Also for allowing her daughter Lavelle to be one for the flowergirl

My sister Jasmine for allowing her daughter Celyn to be one of the flowergirl

The brothers and sisters from church who help us thruout the years from courtship to dating to engage to marriage - Richard and Serina, Anthony and Phyllis, Aik Kee (he gave me specific instruction on how to woo my wife!!) and Justina, Teck and Patrice, Taka and Shinobu, Darrell and Seiko, Nori and Fiona, and many more.

My Bestman Raymond for being my buddy all these years. Someone closer to me than a brother

My Groomsmen Jason, Bernard and Roger. All the men who are very important to me, inspired me to be a better man and being a great buddy.
Sherlee who created the wedding invitation and poster and gave a theme to the wedding. In my heart, these are the most beautiful wedding invitation and poster I can ever have for my wedding.

My wedding coordinator Leon and Dee. So wonderful to re-connect with you guys and created even stronger friendship.

Sheena from OCC, She made planning for banquet such a breeze. 

Karen Chen from Vava Bistro. She was amazing person to work with. Detailed and sensitive to our needs and request. 

Decor Team Jessica, Karen, Ching Eu and Shawn. You have amazing talent. So touched by your love for me and Nami and all the sacrifices you made. You transfer our wedding venue in our dream wedding.

So many other people I want to thank but it's impossible to name everyone.
