I've been watching a lot of movies and drama series and cried alot. There was Hong Kong Drama Triumph in The Sky, Japanese award winning movie Departure and now Hollywood's Marley & Me.
Marley & Me is about a newly married couple starting out their lives together. One of the first addition to their family was Marley the Labrador. The movie was rather fast pace, in 1 hr (movie time). Jennifer Aniston is already a mother of 3. Of course, all these while Marley was in the picture. Marley watch all the kids grow up.
Now, Marley was quite a hell of a dog. Can you imagine that he was expelled out from dog obedient school. Even the so-call trainer was unable to restrain his wild behavior.
Dogs are therapeutic. They always listen, they never criticize, never make nasty remakes, never throw tantrum, always wait for you at the door. Dogs love unconditionally.
That is why years ago, when we put our dog to sleep, it was such a difficult time for my family. We lost a family member.
Marley's health started to deteriorate. The family has to accept that he is going. I can totally relate to the heartache. That I think is the strangest thing about keeping a dog. You watch them as a puppy. You watch them become strong young dog. And you watch them grow old. Eventually, you are also the one watching them die.
Not sure if I am going to put myself into a relation with a dog again. We miss you, Doggy. You are the best dog we ever had.
