I was having my dinner and a lady came up to my table (for 4 pax) and sat opposite me.
I started asking if she's here on a vacation. She's a tour guide from Kunming. She bought a group of tourist to visit the few attractions namely Lijiang, Dali and Zhongdian.
China peak seasons are as follow
1. Chinese New Year (7 days)
2. Labour day, 1 May (7 Days)
3. China National day, 1 Oct (7 days)
According to her, traditions have changed in Kunming's during the Chinese New Year holidays. Many family now have their Reunion Dinner in restaurant on the last day of Lunar Calender (除夕夜) instead of having it at home. Many are also taking this opportunity to travel instead staying home and visits relatives. The whole of Kunming is quiet during the 7 days of CNY holiday, many are out there visiting tourist attraction like Lijiang.
When I asked her on her impression Singapore, she remembers Singapore as a very beautiful and clean country. She visit Singapore in the year 1998. However, she has this impression that Malaysia and Singapore are rather similar. Maybe in the aspect of multi-racial she's right. We have Malays, Chinese in Indians in Singapore and Malaysia.
