Altitude sickness

- 2 degree C

Man down man down. Can't believe it, after experiencing so much high altitude, I'm still suffering from it. Come to think of it, I've been getting this 'altitude sickness' on many occasion. 2002 in Kathmandu, 2005 in Rinjani, and a very mild one in Kinabalu. Basically, i feel nausea and headache. Then somehow my digestive systems goes haywire too. I need to visit the toilet many times. I might vomit too.

Last night, i was awoken by a pulsating headache.I try to get back to sleep and manage to doze off occasionally. By 5 am, the headache got worse and I got out off my bed. I went to the toilet to try to vomit. I use my fingers to dig my throat to trigger the vomiting. So i successful vomit 3-4 times and thought I am ok.

Alvin, Ben and i wanted to catch sunrise at Mao Bi Liang. I was hoping that I'll be well by then. 10 mins on the ride, our vehicle as stopped by a barricade. Like I mention many times, I am not a sunrise person. Furthermore, I've really seen enough of sunrise on mountainous area. So I decided to go back to the hotel with our driver, while Ban and Alvin continues on foot to Mao Bi Liang. It is a good 40mins walk. I admire their enthusiasm, but no thanks.

i climb up to my room on the third floor. When I enter the room, I felt the semi processed food in the stomach trying to force its way out of my mouth. Fortunately, I manage to get to the basin just in time. Vomit...

The good thing about vomiting is you feel better after unloading. The bad thing is the taste and the smell that stays in the area around your mouth and nose.
Soon after that, I regain my health. Ready to hit the road again.
