Fang's baptism

Last Sunday was an unforgettable one. I witness the baptism of a dear friend of mine. Her name is Li Fang more commonly know as Fang.

When I think of her baptism, these are the words that pops up pops up - Amazing! Finally! Yes!!

Knowing Fang for 4 years, we've been thru thick and thin literally. We been on numerous trekking trips including Stong Waterfall, Fansipan, Yu Shan and Xue Shan, and most recent trip was Markha Valley and Humpta Pass in India Himalayas. Besides trekking, we also share the love of jogging. Lead by David and participated by many, we meet every sat 0830am at Macritchie Reservior. It become such a fixture on my Sat schedule, I feel weird if I don't go for run at Mac Res. Made this video for her on her birthday in 2008

Over the years, Fang got to know many Christian and joined countless activities organise by the christians. In fact, she know so many people it will put some of the old christian to shame. Many of us prompted her to study bible and get to know God. So this year, a chain of event lead her to take up the bible study seriously. Dionne and I talk and discuss on many occasion on how to help Fang in the bible study. We talk to other christian to get them involve. In fact we were so on top of things we manage to form a team- We sent ppl to befriend her, love her, encourage her, nourish her with spiritual food. Some would nag (Raymond), some would scold (that would be me), some would spur her on ( Dionne), some would walk with her.

We pray and fast for Fang and God in his graciousness moved Fang's heart. She had a fair share of challenge-timely persecution from close friend, uncertainty of future and so on. I really want to cry when I receive a sms from her on a weekday morning telling me that she has decided to get baptised on the coming sat. Following that, she sms me saying she is fearful of her decision on baptism but despite of her fear, persevere on to take on a leap of faith to get baptise and to declare Jesus the Lord of her life. I almost cried again.

Right now, I am still on cloud nine. God is a God that answers prayer, even if it takes 4 years.
