Trekking Jade mountain and Snow mountain
Yushan is a disappointment. As the weather is bad, we couldn't get to the summit. sigh....
Kending, Taiwan most southern peak
Took about 30mins to find a suitable accommodation to suit to everyone's needs. Since this is off peak season, room comes cheap. Will be staying here for 2 night. Leaving for Taipei on Friday. I look forward to the east coast highway road trip. I heard that it is very beautiful.

Taiwan, here I come
Deon and Fang are waiting for us at Taipei at our hotel. They went there on monday to catch up on shopping.
23 Nov Thurs- Departs for Xueshan. As the name implies, the mountain has snow capped peak. I'll take some pictures to confirm the snow part. I'll be back in Taipei on Sunday night.
27 Nov Mon- Departs for Yushan. Taiwan highest and hottest mountain. It is so hot that you have to ballot to get a permit to climb this touristy mountain. Compare to Gunung Kinabula, Yushan is easier.
29 Nov Wed- Sight seeing Taiwan. Going to the most southern part of taiwan call Kending. There's so much to do there- Surfing, beautiful beach, nice hiking trail, scenic coastal road.

It's mid Nov and the malls are all geared up for Christmas. Christmas and
new year is a big thing for the retailer. Reports show that Christmas period
earning often amount to 25% of annual sales. No wonder retailers are more
excited about Christmas than christians.

Jonathan fetched me from my place. I recommend him to try this very nice
claypot "sweet chicken" AKA frog meat at Yishun Seafood Village, opp
Sembawang Shopping Centre.
After we ordered our Gong Bao tian ji. The ah beng guy picked up 2 live frog
frog the aquarium, brings them to the basin and... guess how he kill the
frogs??? He simply use a pair of scissors and snip off the head, follow by
the rest of the body. I watch that for 3 seconds and decide to head to the
toilet, not to pew but to pee.
Just when we were talking about how cruel it is to kill the frog, an aunty
came. We forget about the cruel part when the tasty Gong Bao soup touch we
taste buds. The frog leg are fantastic, they were huge man. I think those
are athletic frogs. Got go for training one. Anyway, to add on to the
cruelty, we ordered another pot after finishing the first. YUMMY!!!!

2 more days to Taiwan
Here's an update on my travel plans. These plans are subjected to changes. I might skip, shorten or extend my stay in some of these places.
Nov-Dec: Taiwan
Dec-Jan: Hong Kong
Jan- Mar: Guangzhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai, Tibet
Mar-Apr: Nepal
Apr-May: India
As the day approaches, I had mixed feelings. A part of me can't bear to leave my family and my brothers and sister (and of course the comfortable life in Singapore). On the other hand, I am excited about the upcoming adventure ahead of me.
Thank you everyone for your sharing and concern. I appreciated the cards very much. As a family, I would like to share with you that I'll be a disciple wherever I go. I will continue to:
- Read and pray everyday
- Share my faith with fellow travelers
- Downloaded online sermon and listen on my MP3
- Join the overseas churches for midweeks and Sunday service
On my journey, I'll meet up with our brothers and sisters from Asia. Alvin Fan suggested that I take photos and video of disciples wherever I go. So keep track of my blog with updates of my encounter with the disciple in Asia.
I hope to learn new things about myself and about life itself. I'll try to blog the things I learn, I try to share 1 lesson daily. Also, I want to see the beautiful snow peaked mountains in Yunnan. Submerge in the beauty of Lijiang. Live like a local in Nepal. Practice my limited edition mandarin in China. Ride on the highest train from Qingdao to Tibet. Experience life on the plateau of Tibet….
