Singapore's Natural disaster - PSI reading at 401

The past few days has been an roller-coaster ride for Singapore. Due the burning in Indonesia near Riau. and a southwestern wind, PSI in Singapore hit the roof. On a typical beautiful day in Singapore, PSI stays in the healthy range of 0-50.

This haze is strictly speaking not a natural disaster. As it has been published on the newspaper that some commercial company are responsible for the burning.

I hope Singapore realise how vulnerable the environment is and how we can easily be a victim when the environment is misused. I think it's apt to take time to think how we as human fare as a steward for Earth, the dedicate planet we call home.

The past few days of haze reminded me clean air is so important to me. Without clean air, I can forget about going out to do the things I like to do. I couldn't go out to jog, I couldn't go to bukit timah to train for my upcoming trekking trip. I couldn't walk freely on the streets whether day or night. I felt like I'm in a submarine, except that I can still get outdoor by wearing a mask.

For the next few days, low surface wind has been forecast at southernly. So enjoy the clear blue sky while you can. Of course, the ultimate solution to the haze problem is for the fire to be put out. Since Indonesian authority is less than helpful to put out the fire. I wouldn't be surprise if the haze persist for the next few months. Sigh...
