This is the hottest property talk in town. Phase 2 of Punggol will see houses increase from the current 26000 to 100000 in the next 15 years and beyond.
Since my church is located at Punggol, I think it's practical to live there. When the news came, I really don't know if I should be happy. 100000 houses is twice the size that of Ang Mo Kio.
Pro
-New estate. Allows for better planning
-Estate with the most access to water body, In total, there are at lease 21 km of access to water body
-Coastal living. My dream since childhood
-Close to Church and work place.
Con
- Potentially crowded and congested with so many houses in the same town
- Relatively poor transport network as compare to other estate at this point of time
I hope that the authority will allow access to the water. I think more could be done for public to use the waterway more than just for aesthetic purpose. I would be keen to kayak in it. Perhaps even rowing if it's possible. This will be alternative to my evening jog after work. I really like the idea that I can row/kayak on certain days to work out my upper body and jog on certain days to work out my legs.
In the near future, some of the development that is of interest to me is the mall ( ready in 2014). Safra clubhouse (ready in 2015) will also be build not far from the MRT and right next to the waterway and the upcoming sports and recreation center. On the housing side, Matilda and Northshore will be develop in the next 5 years, subject to demand.
