My stay in Thamel has been plagued by noisy streets and now, bed bugs.
They are disgusting creature. The hide under the bedsheets and attack you in the middle of the night.
On the first night, I woke up in the middle of the night scratching myself. I thought it was the heat or maybe mosquitoes, so I got out of the bed to check that the windows are open. I woke up many times on the first night.
Then comes the 2nd night. I get the same bugging Itch again. Then it starts to dawn on me that it could be bed bugs. I lie there considering for awhile. Should I get up and check? Just then, I felt something crawling over my fingers, I am almost sure they are bugs. I switch on the lights and examine the bedsheets hard. It wasn't long before I spot a big fat bed bug. I got paranoid. I almost wanted to go down to the reception to demand for a change of room. But then again, who can guarantee the next bed I lay on is not infested with the bugs.
I decided that the safest and surest way to get a bug free night is to sleep on my sleeping mat with my sleeping bag, away from the bed. And that is what I did. At the same time, I pray that the bugs would not pick up my body temperate and crawl to my sleeping bag, that would be even more disastrous.
Thank God, the night was uneventful.
The next morning, I got up at 715am. Packed my bag and check out of this nightmare hotel.
Wanna know the hotel name???
