I will return... to the Himalayas

9 Mar marks the last day of my travel in china. My Singapore passport only allows me to stay in china without a visa for 15 days. I am glad that this chapter of my travel is coming to an end. Nepal and India is yet another adventure in a starkly different way. Assuming that I'm meeting Fang in New Delhi on 28 apr, i have a good 6 weeks to climb all the mountains i want. I suppose this is too short a notice but you are welcome to join me, if you can get leave from work and the flight tickets.

2002 was my first visit to Nepal. I fell in love with the mountain and the warmth of Nepali. Back then, i took 21 days of leave from work. It was consider long an average Singaporean to be away from work. My colleagues thought that I'm on some sort of mountaineering expedition.

Year after year, i told myself that i'll go back to Nepal. But year after year, I have a new mountain to climb-Tahan, Fan Si Pan, Kinabalu, Rinjani, Yu Shan, etc.

Returning to Himalayas is like homecoming for my wild and adventurous heart, where my internal compass points me to.

One day, I'll take up mountaineering. I'll climb a summit above 6000mt, then 7000mt, then 8000mt and eventuality K2. I am not sure... Let me do a check with the internal compass embedded to my heart.
