丽江(Lijiang)-The beautiful ancient town

Everyday, thousand of visitors from all parts of China flock here. Lijiang is separated into 2- Old Town and New Town.

In the Old Town, there are so many main road which are further expanded to streets. For e.g., one of the hostel I am staying in 七一街，兴文巷。On 七一街, there are at least 10 巷 (Xiang, don't know how to translate to english). In a nutshell, be prepared to get lost in this fun cobweb street of the Old Town.

One of the tip to get around the Old Town is by landmarks. The 3 major landmarks are the 南门(South Gate)，北门(North Gate)，and 四方街(Square Street).The busier area is in 北门(North Gate) and 四方街(Square Street). If you like a less touristy area, than opt for 南门(South Gate). I spent a few afternoon at Cafe Lin, while the whole afternoon sipping coffee, reading my Bible, writing my journal, all at the same time.

At this time of the year, night temperate is about 5 degrees. Set on an elevation of 2400mt, 丽江 Lijiang's weather is lovely. Everyday is sunny day. A stark contrast to Chengdu (Over 200 cloudy days)
